Frequently Asked Questions
To receive a $50 discount, participate in our TIGERS Preservation Station Photo Encounter (located inside of Barefoot Landing in North Myrtle Beach) prior to making your Myrtle Beach Safari Wild Encounters Day or Night Safari Tour reservation. (Note: To receive the discount, you must participate in the TIGERS Preservation Station Photo Encounter and the Myrtle Beach Wild Encounters tour during the same operating season.)
The TIGERS Wild Encounters Tours begin at $339 per person, depending on availability and the season (summer season rates are higher due to high demand). We recommend making your reservation at least two weeks in advance. Groups of 10 or more will receive a discount for online bookings. If the tour cost is beyond your budget, we offer an Essay Contest option, with complete details on our website (see below).
The TIGERS Myrtle Beach Safari Tour is located on our 50-acre preserve in Myrtle Beach, S.C. It is about 15 miles south of the TIGERS Preservation Station in Barefoot Landing, North Myrtle Beach. Exact directions are given out only to those who have tour reservations. For the privacy and safety of our animals, our tour address is not published and will not be given out.
Yes you may take a taxi, Uber, or Lyft to and from the Safari. Please give your driver the address that we provide you once you book your Tour (this will be in your e-mail confirmation). We have a building outside on the driveway with shelter, restrooms, and benches that you'll want to wait at until check-in occurs. After Tour check-in, please feel free to bring your personal items into the lodge and leave them at the front desk until your Tour is complete.
The minimum age for the Wild Encounters Day Safari Tour is 6 years old (all ages may attend the Wild Encounters Night Safari Tour). This is due to the amount of time and attention needed to really enjoy the experience. The tour tends to be too long and contain too many necessary instructions for younger children. Children of any age, however, can visit our TIGERS Preservation Station in Barefoot Landing, North Myrtle Beach, where they will also have the opportunity to see and have a brief photo encounter with animals (fee applies for brief photo encounter).
Our T.I.G.E.R.S. Wild Encounters Tours (both the Day and Night Safari Tours) are a once-in-a-lifetime experience. However, we also offer some amazing VIP private encounters with our incredible animals. One of our guests’ long-standing favorites is to swim with Bubbles, our 9,000 pound African elephant in the Intracoastal Waterway on the edge of our 50 acre wildlife preserve. Or, you may want to spend more one-on-one time with the cubs, have an adventure through the forest, or paint with our great apes. Private encounters start at $7,500 donation for a group of up to four individuals. If you are interested in setting up a private encounter send an email titled “PRIVATE ENCOUNTER INQUIRIES” to Tila@MyrtleBeachSafari.com.
Unfortunately, the Myrtle Beach Wild Encounters Day and Night Safari Tours are not accessible for those with disabilities as we do not have the ability to accommodate wheelchairs or walkers. The preserve is subject to the forces of nature and has uneven ground, logs, sand and uphill terrain. You must be able to walk/stand for 20 minutes and make your way up a flight of approximately 20 steps. (Needing assistance of a cane and/or family member is fine.) However, Preservation Station at Barefoot Landing in North Myrtle Beach is fully accessible for those with disabilities.
Expectant mothers are permitted to take the tour. This is an outside tour, so moms-to-be should keep in mind high temperatures during the summer months. Also keep in mind that you will be expected to sit on the ground for animal interactions, walk up and down a flight of 20 steps, and be able to stand/walk for 15-20 minutes at a time. You will be perfectly fine on our tour.
TIGERS Myrtle Beach Safari is home to more than 200 wild animals, including 60 big cats. The animals here are center stage in this fully interactive, hands-on experience, where you can cuddle-up to tiger cubs, join the wolf pack, share a laugh with our apes, witness adult tigers running at full speed, and feed Bubbles, our amazing 9,000 pound African elephant. Plus, this is the only place in the world where you can meet Hercules the liger, the world’s largest big cat weighing in at more than 900 pounds. While we cannot guarantee that you will see a particular animal up close and personal, you will have the opportunity to see and experience an amazing variety of endangered animals in a fully interactive, hands-on tour experience. Go ahead, reach out and touch the jungle and create a lifetime of memories.
If our fee for the tour is out of your price range, but you really want to get up close and personal with some of the world's most exotic and endangered animals, you may be interested in participating in an essay contest.
Here at The Institute of Greatly Endangered and Rare Species (T.I.G.E.R.S.) we can offer you this amazing opportunity by giving you the chance to win a FREE tour for you and your family.

We adjust the time you spend with the animals accordingly so every tour gets the same experience.

Your Wild Encounters Day or Night Safari Tours will be documented by our professional photographers and videographers. The cost is based on the number of people in your photo group, with the Day Safari Tour and Night Safari Tour photo package price of $150 for the first person and $50 for each additional person in your photo group. Cell phones, iPads, videos equipment, GoPros, and cameras are not allowed during either of the Wild Encounters tour and must be left in your vehicle.
The digital upload photo package will be a digital photo album of you/your group and the animals you interact with on the tour. Each group will receive all digital photographs, which includes photos of your group with the animals, individual portraits and candid shots of your day and photos of the animals themselves.
Please visit our "Book Your Tour Now!" button at the top of the home page to view our current operating season calendar. Unavailable tour dates will be blacked-out.
