Fast Facts
T.I.G.E.R.S. Myrtle Beach Safari, with its Wild Encounters Day and Night Safari Tours, is home to nearly 200 wild animals, including over 60 big cats. The animals here are center-stage in this fully interactive, hands-on experience, where you can cuddle up to tiger cubs, join the wolf pack, share a laugh with our apes, witness adult tigers running at full speed, and feed Bubbles, our 9,000 pound African elephant. Plus, this is the only place in the world where you can meet Hercules the liger, the world’s largest big cat weighing in at more than 900 pounds. Go ahead, reach out and touch the jungle and create a lifetime of memories.
T.I.G.E.R.S. Myrtle Beach Safari is located on our 50-acre tropical wildlife preserve in South Myrtle Beach, S.C. It is approximately 15 miles south of our T.I.G.E.R.S. Preservation Station location in Barefoot Landing, North Myrtle Beach. Exact directions for our Myrtle Beach Safari location are only provided to those who have a pre-paid tour reservation. For the privacy and safety of our animals and staff, our Myrtle Beach Safari tour address is not published and will not be given out unless if a reservation is pre-purchased.
Our Wild Encounters Tours (both the Day and Night Safaris) operate several days a week from early-March through late-November. On the day of your tour, you’ll need to be at the preserve for the tour no later than 9 a.m. for the Day Safari Tour and 6:30 p.m. or 7:00 p.m. for the Night Safari Tour (please see your e-mail confirmation for exact times due to daylight savings time). The Day Safari Tours will begin at 10 a.m. and will last approximately three hours. The Night Safari Tours will begin at 6:30 p.m. or 7:00 p.m. (based on daylight savings time) and will last three hours. Exact departure time varies. Tours are generally more popular and more highly booked during the summer months and holidays. But, regardless of the size of the tour, it is an intimate experience for each person and group as we adjust the time you spend with the animals accordingly so every tour gets the same experience. All tours operate rain or shine. A large majority of the tour is covered, and we have the capacity to move portions of it inside if needed. If it’s raining, we recommend that you bring your own rain jacket/poncho and wear clothing you do not mind getting a little damp in.
Your Wild Encounters Day and Night Safari Tours will be documented by our professional photographers. The digital upload photo package of your tour will be available for purchase at the time of your reservation or at the end of your tour (it’s $25 more if purchased at the end of your tour). The cost is based on the number of people in your photo group, with the Day Safari and Night Safari Tour’s base price of $150 for the first person and $50 for each additional person in your photo group. Cell phones, videos, GoPros, and cameras aren’t allowed during either of the Wild Encounters tour and must be left in your vehicle. The digital upload photo package will be a digital photo album of you and the animals you interact with on the tour which will include photos of you and your group with the animals, individual portraits and candid shots of your day and photos of the animals themselves.
The T.I.G.E.R.S. Wild Encounters Day and Night Safari Tours begin at $339 per person for both the Day and Night Safari Tours, depending on availability and season (please note that pricing for summer, holidays, and peak demand dates may be considerably higher). We recommend making your reservation at least three weeks in advance, especially if you’re attending a Day Safari Tour. Groups of 10 or more will receive a discount for online bookings (please see Contact Us section and send an e-mail to check with us on pricing).
To receive a $50 discount on your Wild Encounters Tour, purchase a T.I.G.E.R.S. Preservation Station Encounter (located inside of Barefoot Landing in North Myrtle Beach) prior to making your Myrtle Beach Safari Wild Encounters Day or Night Safari Tour reservation. (Note: To receive the discount, you must participate in the T.I.G.E.R.S. Preservation Station Encounter and the Myrtle Beach Wild Encounters Tour during the same operating season.) If the tour cost is beyond your budget, we offer an Essay Contest option, with complete details in our FAQ section.
Not only are our T.I.G.E.R.S Wild Encounters Tour a once-in-a-lifetime experience, we also offer some amazing personal/VIP private encounters. One of our guests’ long-standing favorites is to swim with Bubbles the Elephant in the Intra-coastal Waterway on the edge of our 50-acre wildlife preserve. Or, you may want to spend more one-on-one time with the baby tiger cubs, have an adventure through the forest, or paint with our great apes. Private encounters start at a $5,000 donation for a group of up to four persons plus the cost of taking a Day or Night Safari Tour. If you are interested in setting up a private encounter send an email titled “PRIVATE ENCOUNTER INQUIRIES” to Susan@73Deville.com.
-The minimum age for either of the Myrtle Beach Safari Wild Encounters Day Safari Tour is 6 years old (all ages may attend the Wild Encounters Night Safari Tour). This is due to legal and insurance reasons, as well as the amount of time and attention needed to really enjoy the experience. The Day Safari Tour tends to be too long and contain too many necessary instructions for younger children. In addition, children of any age, however, can visit our T.I.G.E.R.S. Preservation Station at Barefoot Landing in North Myrtle Beach, where they will also have the opportunity to see our rare adult tigers and baby tiger cubs (a brief interaction/photo with the cubs is available at an additional cost).
-Unfortunately, the Myrtle Beach Wild Encounters tour is not accessible for those with disabilities as we do not have the capacity to accommodate wheelchairs or walkers. Our 50-acre wildlife preserve is subject to the forces of nature and has uneven ground, logs, sand and uphill terrain. You must be able to walk/stand for 20 minutes and make your way up a flight of approximately 20 steps. (Needing assistance of a cane and/or family member is fine.)
-Expectant mothers are permitted to take either of our Myrtle Beach Safari Wild Encounters Tours. These are outside tours, so moms-to-be should keep in mind high temperatures during the summer months. Also keep in mind that you will be expected to sit on the ground for animal interactions, walk up and down a flight of 20 steps, and be able to stand/walk for 15-20
minutes at a time. You will be perfectly fine on our tour.
-Wardrobe requirements and restrictions: no bracelets, chains, straps, long necklaces (nothing that dangles), no white clothes on the tour, no skirts or dresses on the tour (shorts are OK), no sandals or flip-flops (closed-toe shoes are required on our Wild Encounters Tour, but not for a visit to Preservation Station).
